Our Mission
It is our mission to provide immersive wildlife and nature experiences that inspire a respect for the natural world. We firmly believe that everything has a purpose and strive to teach the public about their individual and collective responsibility to protect the planet for future generations. Everything we do is dedicated to strengthening the connection between humans and their environment. We encourage outdoor exploration, community engagement, exotic pet rescue, and overall inspire people to question how their decisions affect the world.

Tina graduated from Delaware Valley University in 2018 with a major in conservation and wildlife management. Tina is the founder and co-owner of Lokai Rose's summer camp organization, The Wilderness Club, that has been successful in Ringwood State Park since 2014. In addition to co-owning and running Wilderness Club, Tina also worked as an interpretive educator at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Now, at Lokai Rose, Tina is primarily responsible for day-to-day facility operation and animal care. She will also continue to lead The Wilderness Club on their exciting adventures throughout the year.
Sam Barrere
Marketing Director
With a double major in marketing and communication studies from The College of New Jersey, Sam handles all of the marketing and advertising for Lokai Rose. She makes sure all of our events, opportunities, and resources are easily accessible to the community through different forms of media, helping us achieve our mission to connect people with the natural world. Sam also works in our animal care department to help ensure all of our animals are receiving the best care possible.
Amanda MacDermid
Director of Education
Amanda graduated from William Paterson University with a degree in education and a specialization in earth science. Since then, Amanda has taught both kindergarten and 2nd grade at Robert Erskine Elementary School in Ringwood, New Jersey. While school is out for the summer, Amanda loves to fill her time preparing for The Wilderness Club summer camp and coming up with new and exciting ways to teach explorers all about our natural world. Amanda is also a proud mom of 2 boys, Jameson and Max, who are honorary explorers in the making.
Anna Lokai
Philanthropy Manager
Anna has thrived in the bridal industry for the past 17 years and is ecstatic to use her skills to plan, coordinate and implement a diversified fundraising plan for Lokai Rose. She will work closely alongside donors and sponsors as we aim to develop strong relationships with individuals and organizations who share our passion for the planet and its wildlife.
Vickie Lokai
Events Coordinator
In addition to planning and running public and private events for Lokai Rose, Vickie is also the proud co-owner of her very own hair salon, Meraki House of Beauty. Vickie's creativity and artistic ability is nothing short of amazing; and when it is combined with her passion for wildlife, conservation, and her community, there is no question as to why she is the lead of Lokai Rose's events department.
